The newer versions of Apple Logic Pro (running on Apple silicon) have a &#8220;Stem&#8221; feature, which will take an existing recording and extract separate tracks from the mixed recording. The feature extracts these categories of the recording: drums, bass, guitars, keyboards, vocals, and &#8220;other&#8221;. It does not break out, for example, individual guitars if there are more than one. Interestingly, when it extracts the parts, it creates the component track in a stereo field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I took one of the Shellback Rose recordings of &#8220;Since You&#8217;ve Been Gone&#8221;, which I believe was done on a stereo cassette recorder, and ran it through the process. Here is the original recording, the extracted stems, and a new (very rough) mix.
