His birth father died when my father was 3 years old, and my father was eventually adopted by Fred McCornack, who provided him a new last name. Recently I began research into my biological family, and the trail led to a fascinating place: Bacton, Suffolk England. This spring we had the opportunity to visit the ancestral family home, which dates back to at least the 15th century.
