About SomberMoose

There are well over a million moose in North America. I’ve lived in North America since 1953, and I’ve seen only three: two adult females, and a juvenile of indeterminate gender. It makes you think.
My name is Mike McCornack. I am currently a retired teacher (29 years in Music Education and Technology), a husband, a father and a grandfather. I am a lifelong musician, and I don’t think you can retire from that. It’s like being a moose. You just are one.
I think people ought to try to be nice and do the right thing. I’m still working on both of those goals, and I don’t have them down yet. But I plan to keep trying.

It’s way easier for me to play guitar for people than to talk to them. I tend to be serious more frequently than I am happy, and I am more shy than I act. And act is the key word here; as a teacher or musician, you shouldn’t appear to be shy. I don’t think it’s against the law, but it is generally discouraged.
I was born in Oregon. My parents, and some of my grandparents, were born in Oregon. I lived in Eureka, California for awhile, and I liked that too. It’s a lot like my part of Oregon, only all the highway signs are different.
SomberMoose.com is my playground. I do some website consulting, so I like to try to make web stuff work. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t. Here is where I often discover that. You learn a lot when you fail.
Please turn off the lights on your way out, and thank you for visiting.
